Parole in Place for Spouses and Stepchildren of U.S. Citizen was struck down in federal court, and in light of the recent elections results, this program will most likely be revoked by the president elect, Donald Trump, even if the program is revived through further litigation.
As we recommended since the Biden's administration announcement of this program in June of 2024, we cautioned prospective applicants to wait to apply for this program because we anticipated litigation from Texas and other states. This is in fact what happened, and the program has now been canceled by the federal district court.
REFUND OF ATTORNEYS' FEES
Anyone who hired attorneys or other immigration advocates to apply for this program should look into requesting a refund. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit for attorney's fees. Attorneys can only retain fees for work actually done, so if very little or no work was done, you should receive a refund for the fees the attorney did not earn.
