    U.S. Immigration Cases

Zavala Law, PLLC handles a wide variety of immigration matters, including the following:

    • Adjustment of status in which you apply for lawful permanent resident status as someone within the U.S.; this is the process for obtaining a green card.
    • Citizenship and naturalization; naturalization is the process you go through to obtain U.S. citizenship if you were born in a foreign country and have achieved legal permanent residence in the U.S.
    • Consular processing that consists of applying for and obtaining a green card when you live outside the U.S.; this is done at a U.S. Department of State consulate office in your country.
    • DACA issues which is the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program that protects those brought to the U.S. as children from deportation for two years. These protections are renewable.
    • Family petitions which allow you to sponsor a family member to immigrate to the U.S. if you are a U.S. citizen or green card holder.
    • Green cards that are the identification cards that authorize you to live and work in the U.S. as a lawful permanent resident; these must be obtained and renewed through the immigration law process.
    • Provisional waivers and other waivers. These include waivers of inadmissibility that provide a legal remedy for being found inadmissible to the U.S. based on some removable ground.
    • U Visa/VAWA; we advocate for victims of certain crimes who have helped law enforcement in the prosecution of such crimes; these victims can be granted visas under the U visa procedure. We also advocate for women under the Violence Against Women Act in helping these victims of abuse seek visas.
